Santiago Wild Film Festival: Argentina will present two documentaries in the competition

The festival will take place between March 23 and April 2 in Santiago de Chile. Specialized in feature films on nature and the environment, all programming will also be available online.

The Chilean sample, which had more than 600 applicant titles from 60 countries, is organized annually by south slope, a Chilean media outlet dedicated mainly to issues of conservation, the environment and science. In addition, it has the support of the renowned Jackson Wild International Film Festivalbased in Jackson Hole, Wyoming (USA), and the National Geographic Society.

This year, two documentaries Argentines will compete for the top prize: it’s all about the feature films “The silence of the Impenetrable“, of Ignacio Robaynawhich recovers the history of the creation of El Impenetrable National Park, in chaco; and “African territory“, of Joaquin and Julian Azulaywhich follows a 22-month anthropological expedition by Africa.

Both films will compete in the “New Latin American voices“, which seeks to promote talent from the region in productions on wildlife, the environment and communities, with another 12 titles from Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Peru and Venezuela. The other competitive category is “Latin America from the eyes of the world“, where films from the United Kingdom and Iran appear, among other countries.

The winners of each category, decided by an instance of public vote and the last word of a jury of specialists, will be included in the Jackson Wild 2023, with travel and lodging for those responsible.

This year, in addition to attending in person from March 23 to April 2, it will be possible to see the entire online programming, with prior free registration on the festival website www.santiagowild.com. During the ten days of the festival, other documentary films on the subject will also be available.
