It’s unclear what led to Lindelof and Britt-Gibson’s departure from the project, although the former hinted at his departure in a recent interview with slashfilm.
“I’ll just say that for reasons I can’t explain this Sunday morning, on this day, the degree of difficulty is extremely, extremely, extremely high. Yeah [la película] It can’t be great, it shouldn’t exist,” Lindelof said. “That’s all I’ll say, because I have the same association with [Star Wars] that you, which is the first movie I saw sitting on my father’s lap, when I was four years old, May ’77. I think it’s possible that sometimes, when you hold something with such reverence and esteem, you start to enter the kitchen and you say, ‘Maybe I shouldn’t be cooking. Maybe I should be eating. We’ll leave it at that point.”
