“I’ve had the time of my life,” said Buchinger after his departure, based on the motto of the evening “Movienight”. The eight remaining couples danced to their favorite film music in the ORF Ballroom on Friday evening. Even the opening was spectacular, when the moderators Mirjam Weichselbraun and Andi Knoll presented themselves as dancers for the first time to the “Dirty Dancing” classic “Time of my life”.

Influencer and cabaret artist Michael Buchinger and his professional dance partner Herbert “Herby” Stanonik put a quick quick step to the song “Suddenly I See” from the film “The Devil Wears Prada” on the floor. In their pink and red velvet jackets, the dance partners were a visual highlight of the evening, but the couple could not make any big leaps forward in terms of points. Guest juror Michael Schottenberg was particularly harsh on the two and awarded only three points for their quick step. Overall, Michael and Herbert had to be satisfied with twelve jury points. Only restaurateur Eveline Eselböck and Peter Erlbeck were worse placed, bringing up the rear with eleven points.

This time, the former ski jumping coach Alexander Pointner received a lot of praise: the native of Upper Austria transformed himself into the character of Batman’s adversary Joker and danced a slow fox to “Smile” together with Manuela Stöckl. Juror Maria Santner-Angelini was impressed: “I think that was your strongest dance so far this season.”

Calls and SMS from the viewers finally brought a decision: Buchinger and Stanonik danced out after four episodes. There are still seven couples in the running for the title “Dancing Star 2023”.
