The Incaa presents “Cine Bonsai”, the first marathon of animated shorts at the Gaumont

Tickets can be picked up at the Cine Gaumont box office on the day of the event from 5:30 p.m. and will be valid for any of the three blocks of the programming.

The first edition of “Bonsai Cinema”a sample of Argentinean animated shorts organized by the National Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual Arts (Incaa)will take place on Monday, April 3 in the Leonardo Favio room of the Gaumont Cinema, with free admission.

“The exhibition of this type of material allows the public to know content awarded in various festivals,” said the assistant manager of the Incaa Animation Management, Silvina Cornillonthrough a statement distributed to the press.

The event, which is organized into three blocks, will open at 6:30 p.m. with the premiere of “The carousel”of Augusto Schillaci, winner of the Canal+ Prize awarded by the junior jury at the Annecy International Film Festival (France). The projection will be accompanied by the live music of the original soundtrack, performed by the pianist who composed the short film together with an instrumental orchestra, and then the spectators will be able to dialogue with the director and screenwriter.

The second block will begin at 7:45 p.m. with a special selection of four productions and a talk with their filmmakers, moderated by paul countartistic director of the Mar del Plata International Film Festival.

programming includes “The tree has already been planted”of Irene Bléiwinner of the Incaa Regional National Short Film Competition in 2018; “The after of the world”of Florentina Gonzalezan award-winning short film at the Tricky Women festival in Austria that highlights the work of women in animation; “The Adventures of Sir Percival”of Mariano Bergara, Javier Mrad and Becho Lo Bianco, recently nominated for Best Visual Development of Animation Work at the Quirino Awards and winner of Best Argentine Animation at the Anima de Córdoba Festival; and the co-production between Argentina and Spain “LOOP”of Paul Polledrithe first Argentine director to win the Goya Award in the Best Short Film category.

The third and last block will begin at 9:30 p.m. with the projection of “Passenger”short of Juan Pablo Zaramella which was exhibited at the closing ceremony of the Annecy International Animation Festival, in France. Subsequently, the public will be able to talk with the director and his team about the process of creating this short film made with an unprecedented modality, using small pieces of paper through the stop motion technique.
