So far, RTL presenter Frauke Ludowig has kept her children out of the public eye. Now she and her older daughter Nele stood in front of the camera for the first time.
She recently celebrated her 18th birthday, now she was allowed to face the camera with mom for the first time: Nele Ludowig did a photo shoot at the side of her mother, RTL presenter Frauke Ludowig. The two women were photographed for a campaign for the fashion brand Marc Cain. They also gave the magazine “Gala” an interview.
In it, the student reveals that she definitely has ambitions to follow in her mother’s footsteps. “I definitely want to get a closer look at mom’s job as a journalist”, she says. What impresses her most about her mother is her composure and ambition: “She burns for what she does.” Nele’s father, the creative director Kai Röffen, is also active in the media industry.
“I accepted that mom and dad protected me completely from the public for a long time. But now I’m older and see my parents’ job from a new perspective. My father is very successful in the advertising industry, my mother in the television industry – both communication professions that now interest me very much”says the 18-year-old, who is doing her A-levels next year.
Frauke Ludowig has two daughters
Ludowig herself admits in an interview that at the age of 18 she did not yet have an exact plan for her professional career. “I really had nothing to do with this industry. My parents still run a butcher shop to this day. If I had said at the time that I wanted to watch TV, everyone would have shown me a bird. When I was 18, I didn’t know exactly what I wanted to be and started an apprenticeship in a bank.” She is now all the more proud of her older daughter, as she documents with one.
When asked if her mother was sometimes embarrassing, Nele Ludowig replied: “Sometimes mom already wears outfits that I find very questionable. And it is also embarrassing when she asks total strangers about their age or their occupation.” All in all, mother and daughter would have a very close relationship.
In addition to Nele, Frauke Ludowig has a younger daughter named Nika. The presenter has been married to Creative Director Kai Röffen (60) since 2003.
