During the dismantling of the exhibition “Freshly Gestrichelt” in the Bad Ischl City Museum, the painting “Political Phenomena” by the painter Paul Jaeg, worth 2,500 euros, was destroyed yesterday. Around 10 a.m., the artist had leaned the picture against the outer wall of the museum along with other works to be taken away. He fetched more works: “When I came back, I saw that the picture was completely smeared with red spray paint.” Jaeg filed a complaint. It is unclear who destroyed the picture and why. The picture is insured, but Jaeg wants to warn other artists: “This is destruction. I’m stunned.”
