“Joker: Folie à Deux” will again have Todd Phillips direct and will feature Brendan Gleeson, Catherine Keener, Jacob Lofland, Harry Lawtey and Zazie Beetz in the cast.
One last batch of photos from the set of “Joker: Folie à Deux” reveals to Lady Gaga and joaquin phoenix dancing on the Bronx stairs made famous in the first movie of Joker. One of the most memorable scenes from the 2019 film featured Phoenix dancing maniacally to “Rock and Roll Part 2” from Gary Glitter playing while on a stairway near Shakespeare Avenue in the Bronx, New York.

It seems that “Joker: Folie à Deux” is putting his own spin on the stairway scene, as Phoenix is now joined by Gaga’s Harley Quinn in the same location. The two are in their clown makeup and are seen dancing, smoking and laughing as they film a scene on the franchise’s iconic staircase. Whatever music will accompany this scene has yet to be revealed.

The “Joker” Phillips’ original became a box office phenomenon in 2019, grossing just over a billion dollars worldwide to become the highest-grossing R-rated film of all time (not adjusted for inflation). The film won the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival and earned 11 Academy Award nominations, including best picture and best director. Phoenix won the Oscar for best actor, as did Hildur Guðnadóttir by the original score.
“Joker: Folie à Deux” will hit theaters on October 3, 2024.
