This is the first DC movie about a Latino superhero.
Warner Bros. released the first trailer for the movie DC Blue Beetle of the filmmaker Angel Manuel Soto. The film was originally conceived for HBO Maxbut then the studio moved on to a theatrical release before it Blue Beetle production began.
DC’s first Latino superhero movie was developed under the era of the studio led by walter hamada. The character is said to be incorporated into the universe being developed by DC’s new bosses, peter safran and James Gunn. In DC canon, Blue Beetle is friends with Booster Gold, another DC character that Gunn/Safran is developing a TV series around.
Xolo Mariduena he stars as the main hero and as his alter ego Jaime Reyes. Jaime Reyes, a recent college graduate, returns home full of aspirations for his future, only to discover that the house is not exactly as he left it. As he seeks to find his purpose in the world, fate intervenes when Jaime unexpectedly finds himself in possession of an ancient relic of alien biotechnology: the Scarab. When he suddenly chooses Jaime as his symbiotic host, he is granted an incredible armor capable of extraordinary and unpredictable powers, forever changing his destiny as he becomes the superhero Blue Beetle.
