This Thursday at 6:30, the camera crew and members of the International Alliance of Theater Stage Employees had reported to work as expected. But upon arrival they began to collect their equipment and personal belongings to leave, a team briefer told the Los Angeles Times.

At that moment, several non-union members appeared to replace them. While a member of the producer’s staff ordered those from the union to leave the set. Six hours after they left, the fatal shot occurred.
