The arteba foundation and the Ministry of Culture of the Nationthrough the MICA (Market of Argentine Cultural Industries)launched a scholarship program for UTOPIA, the sector of the arteba fair dedicated to galleries, artist-run spaces, for-profit and non-profit organizations and other experimental marketing platforms that focus on the most recent productions.
The content you want to access is exclusive to subscribers.
The objective of these grants is to allow galleries and artistic projects from all over the country access to the UTOPIA section –both for the first time and if they had participated in it in no more than two previous editions–, in order to make visible new scenes and give continuity to the work undertaken, indicated from Arteba in a statement

The spaces interested in applying must be active in their region and have a schedule of activities that dates back at least one year.
The selection of the proposals and the awarding of the scholarships will be the responsibility of the Selection Committee, made up of Cesar Abelenda (gallery owner from Pasto, Buenos Aires), carla barber (independent curator, Córdoba), sonia becce (independent curator, Buenos Aires), Leopol Mones Dogfish (gallery owner of Isla Flotante, Buenos Aires) and Marina Pellegrini (Vasari gallery owner, Buenos Aires).
MICA will award six scholarships that cover the cost of renting a 25-square-meter stand in UTOPIA – Arteba 2023 (each stand includes paneling and signage) while the costs of transportation, accommodation, production of work and assembly of the stand will be borne by the projects awarded.
The application deadline is until April 17 and inquiries can be made via email by writing to galerias@arteba.org.
