The city located 123 km south of the center of the city of Buenos Aires appears as a promising place for the local tourism and corporate events.
The city is not just any city. It is full of history and poetry
Almost everyone knows that President Raúl Ricardo Alfonsín was born in Chascomús, but few know that Baldomero Fernández Moreno lived there.
Has the poet also seen there a building with seventy balconies and no flower?
Chascomús today has just over 34,000 inhabitants and has an unforgettable cultural, religious and architectural circuit, such as the Our Lady of Mercy Cathedral Church.
The project was in charge of the Spanish engineer Felipe Senillosa, who arrived in the country in the 1820s and author of some important works such as the Church of San José de Flores, the mansion of Juan Manuel de Rosas in Palermo (both demolished) and the tower of the San Ignacio church in Buenos Aires.

It is particularly beautiful Chapel of the Negroes. In 1861, the freed blacks who lived in Chascomús asked the authorities for a plot of land to erect a “room for souls and other essential objects for our festive rejoicings.”
Culture lovers value, particularly the Pampas Museumcreated in 1939 in homage to the centenary of the Battle of Chascomús.

Where the downtown area begins, stands out the Italians Clock. It is one of the best known meeting points. The “chascomunense obelisk” was designed by Telésforo Sallaberry.

And the Old Station Municipal Cultural Center (Chascomús Railway Museum) English-style, it was built with materials from the lagoon.

But history and development today go hand in hand. Recently, and with the aim of continuing to grow and betting on the hospitality industry, the iconic Howard Johnson Chascomús inaugurated 29 Apart Hotel-type rooms with an architectural style integrated into the natural environment in order to target two market segments: the individual tourism passenger and the corporate segment that is eager for nearby places and with good access to CABA.
The thing is the city has a long business tradition. It attracts local and foreign entrepreneurs for its accessibility and for its possibilities of tourist investment.
The local government promotes a style of investments “Bussiness friendly” that promotes economic growth
Lastly, intangibles such as the predominant entrepreneurial spirit and social cohesion have been making Chascomús an interesting economic engine in the region for some time.
