Hollywood star Jeremy Renner (“Avengers: Endgame”) speaks in a TV interview about his life-threatening injuries in a snow-clearing accident.

He wrote parting words for his family on his phone in the hospital, the “Hawkeye” actor tells the US journalist Diane Sawyer with tears. The broadcaster ABC published excerpts from the planned program “A Story of Terror, Survival and Triumph”.

The 52-year-old was run over by a snowplow on New Year’s Day while trying to clear a stuck vehicle after heavy snowfall in the mountainous region near Lake Tahoe. He was taken to the nearby clinic in Reno (Nevada) by helicopter. He had to undergo multiple surgeries there.

The Hollywood star broke more than 30 bones in the accident. Without the help of others, he would certainly have died, Renner said. This would have been a “terrible” death. Luckily his nephew was there.

The emergency call to the police can also be heard in the program. The victim of the accident was crushed and he is feeling very bad, says the caller. Renner says that he witnessed the painful accident while fully conscious.
