That municipal Secretariat kept the registration open for those interested in participating in the calls “aquatic stations” of the Via Crucis in which “more than 100 registered among divers, kayakers and swimmers” who will accompany the underwater section of the procession that will go from the coast to the last section.

“This event is unique in the world. It starts in the central chapel of Puerto Madryn, which is the Sacred Heart of Jesus, it reaches the coast of the new gulf and there begins the aquatic part where the last three stations are held.”

“All this can be followed from the esplanade of the Luis Piedrabuena dock where, coinciding with the sunset of the day, you can see the great illuminated light that moves on the bottom of the sea,” he described.

Via Crucis in the water

In the organization they participate, in addition to the Ministry of Tourismthe association of diving operators, the “Sagrado Corazón de Jesús” church in Puerto Madryn and experienced divers who lead the procession in the nautical section.

Also involved in logistical support are the Argentine Naval Prefecture, the Port Administration, the Mixed Entity for tourism promotion, the “Madryn kayak club” group and the “Sudestada” sea swimming school.

According to the program of activities, the ceremony will begin at 6:00 p.m. with a starting point in the church from where the land procession that will go through the stations located in different parts of the city until it reaches the cross that will be waiting at the access to the cruise ship pier.

All this will also be accompanied by the choirs “Estable Municipal” and the “Municipal de Jóvenes” that will interpret religious songs.
