Mick Mars sues Mötley Crüe: This is how the band reacts

Mötley Crüe has responded to Mick Mars’ lawsuit over feeling pushed out of the band. Nikki Sixx declares: “A sad day for us”.

Apparently there is no longer peace between the members of Mötley Crüe. According to US media reports, guitarist Mick Mars (71) has filed a lawsuit against the other members of the band. In it he claims they tried to unfairly evict him from the band. Bassist Nikki Sixx (64) responded to this on Twitter.

“Sad day for us and we didn’t deserve it considering how many years we’ve supported it”, . “We still wish him the best and hope he finds lawyers and managers who won’t harm him. We love you Mick.”

Is Mick Mars still a member of the band?

Mick Mars suffers from a rheumatic disease that mainly affects the spine and pelvis. He announced last year that he could no longer tour with the band. But he is still open to recording new music. In his lawsuit, the musician allegedly claims that the band is trying to oust him entirely and drastically reduce his share of touring and merchandise profits.

From the Motley Crüe legal team: “Retiring from touring means retiring from the band.” The band’s main function is touring and giving concerts, the statement said. If you withdraw from it, you can’t get compensation for touring – “what Mick is trying to get”.

Successor is already here

The American glam metal band Mötley Crüe was formed in Los Angeles in 1980. Nikki Sixx, Tommy Lee (60) and Vince Neil (62) presented a new band member as a successor to Mars for their performances with John 5 (52) last year. “I’m honored to continue Mick’s legacy and look forward to playing these songs,” he said in a Motley Crüe statement.
