Matthias Reim and his partner Christin Stark revealed two surprises on Saturday evening: The two are expecting a baby – and have been married for a year and a half.
The singer Matthias Reim (“Damn, I love you”) and his partner Christin Stark are expecting a baby. The 63-year-old announced this on Saturday evening in the ARD live show “Schlagerboom 2021”.
And that’s not all: The two have been married for a year and a half, as Reim revealed to the surprise of moderator Florian Silbereisen.
“We got married on April 14, 2020, in the middle of the corona lockdown,” said Reim. “We were together for eight years, so it was really about time.” But they did not want to make the wedding public at the time. “We said it was just something between us.”
Reim already has six children from five women. “What is coming now is not just number seven, it is our heart’s desire,” he said, visibly moved. The 32-year-old pop singer Stark also had tears in her eyes. Florian Silbereisen commented: “The ‘hit boom’ is turning into a baby boom!”
Reim assured him that he would be there on Silbereisen’s tour of “The Great Schlagerfest” in the coming year. The baby come with me. “It’s going to be a rock and roll baby,” said the singer.
