It’s a vocal passage that almost any adult can sing along to. The soundtrack to the cult film “Bodyguard” (“I Will Always Love You”) by Whitney Houston became a world hit more than 30 years ago. The famous songs are revived on the theater stages. “Bodyguard” is also performed as a musical in Manchester, England. The performance on Friday evening had it all.
Securities stepped in
As the “Guardian” reports, the show in the “Palace theater” was canceled prematurely because of an overzealous singer in the audience. The British newspaper posted a video online. On it you can hear how the lady sings along the tender lines in the most off-key tones. Security officers then stepped in. They are said to have led the disruptive amateur singer and her companion out of the hall. The Guardian’s video was viewed more than three million times on YouTube within a few hours. At the end of the short clip, cheers can be heard from the audience.
Singer Thornton apologized
Incidentally, Melody Thornton, who became known as the singer of the “Pussycat Dolls”, was on stage. She apologized to the disturbed musical visitors on Instagram. She’d tried to drown out the visitor’s quirky interlude and failed. “I fought really hard. It feels awful and I hope we meet again,” she let fans know.
