“Wave of suicides”: Dillom parodies the mainstream rocker in his new single

The success of Dillom seems to have no roof. After the popularity of his 2021 album “postmortem“, the artist now reaffirms his great moment at the hands of “Wave of suicides”, his new single, in which he attacks the industry and parodies the rock and roll mainstream.

At just 22 years old, Dylan Leon Mass He became, under the name “Dillom”, one of the most convincing figures of the Argentine trap scene, although his music is far from being pigeonholed solely in that urban genre.

A clear example of this versatility is “Wave of suicides”, his new song. With a duration of just over two and a half minutes, the song is accompanied by a video clip in which Dillom and his Post Mortem Band appear dressed as rockers from an 80’s glam band, parodying groups like Guns N’ Roses and even Queen.

The short is a great satire on mainstream rock and an acid key claim to the (little) space that the young singer has in him.

DILLOM – SUICIDE WAVE (Official Video Clip)

As a pearl, the appearance of Andrés Calamaro stands out under the name “Brad Pitbull”, a pseudonym that he himself adopted for a long time on his social networks. In the video, he appears as a ternado at the Music Awards, an obvious reference to the Gardels.

In a provocative way, Dillom reviews different scenarios in which his death or retirement would generate a wave of suicides. “If I die now, there is a wave of suicides / if I retire, there is a wave of suicides / if I commit suicide, there is a wave of suicides / and if they kill me, there is a wave of suicides”, launches the artist.

To complete the combo, the song opens with a fragment of a speech by Jim Jonesthe preacher who led his parishioners to a mass suicide in Jonestown, Guyana, in 1978, which left 918 dead, including Jones himself.

The brand new launch was held at the C Art Media complex in the Chacarita neighborhood. There Dillom gave a show of just 25 minutes in which he also presented the official video clip of the song.

On April 14, Dillom will perform at the Movistar Arena to offer the last show of the “Post Mortem Tour” in the City of Buenos Aires.
