House of the Dragon officially started filming its second season

Filming of the second season of House of the Dragon it’s running. The fantasy success of HBO production began at Leavesden Studios in the UK.

“House of the Dragon has returned”said the showrunner ryan condal it’s a statement. “We are delighted to be shooting again with members of our original family, as well as new talent on both sides of the camera. All your favorite characters will soon be conspiring at the council tables, marching with their armies and riding their dragons into battle. We can’t wait to share what we have in store.”

That “new talent” includes the addition of Emmy-winning executive producer and director allan taylorwhose work in game of Thrones he was instrumental in helping set the directing tone for the series. Taylor was brought on board after the co-producer and director of the first season, Miguel Sapochnikresigned from the series.

There’s no release date for the second season, but the show will likely return in 2024.

According to HBOthe first season averaged at least 29 million viewers per episode, more than all seasons of game of Thrones except the last two.

based on the book Fire & Blood from executive producer George R. R. Martinthe series is set 200 years before the events of game of Thrones and tells the story of the Targaryen family.

The cast for the second season includes Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy, Eve Best, Steve Toussaint, Fabien Frankel, Ewan Mitchell, Tom Glynn-Carney, Sonoya Mizuno, and Rhys Ifans. Additional returning cast includes Harry Collett, Bethany Antonia, Phoebe Campbell, Phia Saban, Jefferson Hall, and Matthew Needham.
