According to his representative to the TMZ channel, the actor passed away peacefully on Sunday morning at his home in Los Angeles.
For their part, his family expressed: “The world knew him as Gunther (the seventh ‘Friend’) from the hit series ‘Friends’, but Michael’s loved ones knew him as an actor, musician and loving husband.”
Michael Tayler appeared in 150 episodes of the series starring Jeniffer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Matthew Perry, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer and Matt Leblanc, making his first appearance in the second chapter.
Gunther, his character, was the manager of the Central Perk cafeteria, the meeting place of the six friends and an emblematic scene of the strip. Last year he had participated in the meeting of the cast of the series, although not in person but through Zoom.
Michael Tyler also had roles in the series “Scrubs”, “Episodes”, “Modern Music” and “Just Shoot Me!”, Among others.
