“Friends” star James Michael Tyler has passed away. Ross actor David Schwimmer says goodbye to his colleague on Instagram.
Great sadness at the “Friends” cast: On Monday morning (October 25th) it was announced that Gunther actor James Michael Tyler (1962-2021) had succumbed to cancer. Numerous fellow actors have already said goodbye to Tyler on social media, including “Friends” stars Jennifer Aniston (52), Courteney Cox (57), Lisa Kudrow (58) and Matt LeBlanc (54). Now Ross actor David Schwimmer (54) also dedicated one to him.
Tyler was a “good-natured gentleman”
Under a photo showing Tyler in his role as manager of the Central Perk café, Schwimmer wrote: “James, thank you for playing such a wonderful, unforgettable role in Friends and for being such a good-natured gentleman were. […] We’ll miss you buddy. “
Tyler was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2018. Only a few months ago he went public with his fate and announced that the cancer was in the terminal stages. In one, he revealed that he could no longer walk because of tumors in his spine and bones. Tyler leaves behind his wife, Jennifer Carno.
