Diane Kruger is in trouble with the authorities – because of her Wikipedia entry

Hollywood actress Diane Kruger actually comes from Germany. However, it is difficult to get a German passport for her daughter – due to apparently incorrect information in her Wikipedia article.

Diane Kruger has made a name for herself in Hollywood with roles in films such as “Inglorious Basterds” and “Troy”. But what many fans don’t know: The 42-year-old is actually German. She was born as Diane Heidkrüger in the Lower Saxony town of Algermissen, but has lived in the USA for many years.

The actress wanted to apply for a German passport for her four-year-old daughter Nova Tennessee – and ended up in a jungle of authorities. Kruger complained about the bureaucratic confusion on Instagram: The German embassy assumes that she has accepted American citizenship. An employee googled it and found a corresponding note in its Wikipedia entry.

Diane Kruger is annoyed by the confusion of authorities

In fact, there is a corresponding sentence in the English-language Wikipedia. Accordingly, Kruger is said to have become a US citizen in 2013. According to Kruger, that’s not true at all. “I have a green card and a German passport,” she explains on Instagram. The embassy doesn’t seem to see that. Instead, Kruger must now provide proof that she actually never took citizenship. “Not even my lawyer has ever heard of such a paper,” she rages. “Next, I have to prove that Nova actually came out of my body.”

Kruger seems to be losing his nerve in the chaos – she’s already asking her fans to send her wine. In the meantime, however, the Federal Foreign Office has also responded to the Instagram post: “We sent you a message,” commented the authority’s social media editors under the post. Kruger, on the other hand, first reacted snippy with “I didn’t get it”, but has now apparently reported back. Hopefully the confusion will be cleared up soon – otherwise some fans have another suggestion for Kruger: just correct her Wikipedia entry herself.
