Michelle Yeoh returns to the Star Trek universe with a movie for Paramount+

The Best Actress Oscar winner will reprise her role as Emperor Philippa Georgiou that she first portrayed in the Star Trek: Discovery series.

The Academy Award Winner michelle yeoh officially returns to the universe of star trek. Paramount+ gave the green light to Star Trek: Section 31, an original film for the streaming platform. Yeoh will reprise the role of her as Emperor Philippa Georgiou, a character she first played in the first season of Star Trek: Discovery.

The portal Deadline first revealed that Yeoh was in talks for the project in 2018 and was later confirmed in 2019 that it was in development as a series on CBS AllAccess. Now it will be redesigned as a movie on the streaming signal.

In Section 31, Emperor Philippa Georgiou joins a secret division of Starfleet tasked with protecting the United Federation of Planets. But she is also faced with the sins of her past. Production on the CBS Studios film will begin later this year.
