Publishers, booksellers, distributors, literary agents, illustrators, librarians, designers and translators from Argentina and abroad will participate from April 25 to 27 in the Professional Conference of the 47th edition of the Buenos Aires Book Fairon the property of La Rural.
During those days, “there will be international business rounds, training, alliances and agreements between the different players in the publishing industry; networks of professional contacts will be developed and strengthened and the linking and networking of all those who make up the book ecosystem will be stimulated,” reported Fundación El Libro.
More than 700 national and international buyers from more than 20 countries, including booksellers, distributors, agents and acquisition managers, were invited to participate by the organizing entity.
Meanwhile, more than 50 exhibitors will have their stands exclusively in the Red Pavilion, where there will be a special sector for meetings and business of buying/selling rights and co-publishing with publishers and literary agents from different countries.
As every year, there will be training and education proposals for publishers, booksellers, distributors, librarians and all industry professionalsand specific segments for the management of university publishing houses, conferences for librarians and illustrators.
Likewise, professional visitors from any part of the country will be able to send their purchases directly from the Fair to their bookstore or business, for which they will have up to 200 kilos discounted per bookstore and in case of excess they will be able to send them at a special rate. In the last edition, more than 27,000 kilos were dispatched to more than 300 clients, reported the Foundation.
For foreign professional visitors in the 2023 edition, DHL had a stand and from there they could ship their purchases directly to their bookstore or business anywhere in the world. “More than 300 buyers from all over the world dispatched more than 10,000 kilos in the last edition of the professional conferences, an initiative that will be repeated on this occasion, a benefit that only the Buenos Aires International Book Fair provides,” said the Foundation. .
With the Librería Amiga program, implemented five years ago, bookstores around the world and librarians can access a discount of up to 50% on their purchases during Professional Conferences. This benefit is carried out exclusively in the adhered stands, which are recognized with an identifying sign.
The sessions will take place from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., from Tuesday April 25 to Thursday April 27, the opening day of the fair that will last until May 15, at the La Rural property.
