A few weeks after the last season finale of “The Voice Kids” in May last year, “Au Revoir” singer Mark Forster caused a stir with a surprising announcement. The 40-year-old postponed all 26 concerts of his big arena tour to 2024 on the grounds that he needed more time for himself.
On Instagram, he explained his decision at the time by saying that work on the shows would start now. “Think about the show, think up the stage and of course rehearse,” he lists. “But when I listen to myself, I need something else,” he says openly.
As he explains, he wants to “work on new music with a little time” and finally put projects that have been planned for a long time into practice. Since then, the singer has been quiet. Most recently, he got in touch seven weeks ago with a black and white photo from London and wrote in memory of his hit “Kogong”: “When we were recording a song called Kogong at Abbey Road Studios… The pictures from @robert.winter are with me right now showed up and triggered my urge to make music. Everything will be fine.”

Now he is back with an update and answers the concerns of his community in a question and answer session. When asked why it had been so quiet around him for the past few months, Forster replies: “I want / wanted it that way. I feel somehow different and wanted to have the time to experience it.
