Patrick Wilsonwho makes his feature directorial debut, along with Rose Byrne, ty simpkins and Andrew Astor are among the familiar faces returning for the sequel to insidious and Insidious: Chapter 2. The new cast includes Sinclair Daniel, Peter Dager and Hiam Abbass.
Per Sony’s official synopsis: “In Insidious: The Red Door, the original cast of the horror franchise returns for the final chapter of the terrifying Lambert family saga. To put an end to his demons once and for all, Josh (Wilson) and a college-aged Dalton (Simpkins) must delve deeper into the Afterlife than ever before, confronting his family’s dark past and a host of new and more horrifying terrors. that lurk behind the red door”.
The film, produced by Jason Blum for Blumhouse Productions, along with the creators of the franchise james wan and Leigh Whanneland oren pelibegins 10 years after Insidious: Chapter 2. Wilson is directing from a screenplay by Scott Teems and a story by Whannell.
Screen Gems and Sony Pictures’ Stage 6 Films will release the film in theaters on July 7, 2023.
The Insidious film franchise earned more than $500 million worldwide, with the fourth film earning $167 million worldwide, the biggest box office for the franchise. Released internationally by Sony Pictures in 2018, Insidious: The Last Keybecame the first film in the horror franchise to gross more than $100 million overseas.
