At least not when it comes to the nominations for the highest award in Filmland, which will be presented in Vienna on June 15th. Since yesterday, Marie Kreutzer’s work has been at the top of the field of nominees with eight chances to win. Florian Teichtmeister, who is facing charges of possession of child abuse footage, plays in “corset” Emperor Franz Joseph.
In second place in the race is the coming-out drama with seven nominations “Eismayer” (Director: David Wagner), followed by “The Fox” with five chances to win, in which Adrian Goiginger from Salzburg fictionally reappraises the relationship between his great-grandfather and a fox cub during the First World War. All three works are nominated for Best Film and Leading Actor.

Upper Austrians in the field
What is striking is the strong performance of Upper Austrians. That’s how the woman from Linz works Monica Buttinger in the category Costume for “corset” into the race. The Innviertlerin Eva Klampfer alias “lylite” was for her first film music composition for “Eismayer” nominated.
Schartner editor Nora Czamler and her editing colleagues are also in favor “Eismayer” nominated. Sabine Derflinger from Vöcklabruck (“Alice Schwarzer”) has a chance in the documentary film division. Leni Gruber from Wels and her co-director Alex Reinberg from Linz are responsible for the short film “Hollywood” nominated.
