What You Do Counts: National Geographic Debuts Podcast Series

The eight new installments that make up the new edition, already available on different platforms, continue to emphasize the importance of connecting with nature and taking care of the Planet, hand in hand with scientists, activists and renowned experts.

As part of the initiatives that accompany Earth Month, today it premieres on different platforms and with all its episodes, the special edition of What you do counts, National Geographic’s podcast series that explores issues related to the climate and ecological crisis, and examines ways to combat it alongside leading scientists, environmentalists, activists, and National Geographic Explorers. The eight new installments, led once again by the writer, psychologist and speaker Magali Tajesarrive in the format of micro podcasting. They are available in the Radio Disney website, Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer and Castbox, and two of them are featured on video on the official National Geographic YouTube channel.

In the new edition of What you do counts, The audience can enjoy the following episodes:

  • From Space: Another Perspective of Earth”in which amazing data on the key interconnections for the balance of the Planet are presented, with the participation of the Costa Rican astronaut Franklin Chang-Diaz;
  • “Nature deficit: The benefits of being in contact with the Earth”about the impact of nature on the well-being of people, together with Argentina Maria NeiraDirector of the Department of Public Health and Environment of the World Health Organization;
  • “Bees: cupid of biodiversity”focused on the fundamental role of bees in sustaining biodiversity, with the presence of the Mexican evolutionary biologist and National Geographic Explorer Mario Vallejo Marin;

  • “Mushrooms: an unknown kingdom”with a focus on the mysterious world of fungi by the Chilean mycologist and National Geographic Explorer Giuliana Furci;
  • “Resilience: the power of natural regeneration”about the extraordinary regenerative power of nature and our role in achieving it, with the participation of the Mexican marine biologist, conservationist and National Geographic Explorer Octavio Aburto; and
  • “Earth Day: It pays to act”, which reviews the inspiring story behind this important anniversary seeking to serve as inspiration to achieve positive action, together with Francisco Javier Vera Manzanaresa 13-year-old Colombian activist who founded the Guardians for Life Environmental Movement and child adviser to the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child.

The production of the podcast What you do counts It is part of the National Geographic initiative of the same name, which seeks to raise awareness among different audiences about the importance of taking collective action for the Planet.

Both the new episodes of What you do counts as the first two seasons can be heard on the Radio Disney website, Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer and Castbox.
