In the 30th edition of the tournament that took place in the Italian city of Parma from April 18 to 20, the master pizza chef Mauro Dávila won sixth place in the category “Neapolitan pizza”where he competed against 100 participants.

“Being the Neapolitan pizza declared by the Unesco As an intangible heritage of humanity, property and insignia of the Italians, having obtained this position was not expected, much less competing against a hundred participants from the world. This is the second consecutive year that I have participated in the World Cup and it is the first time that I have competed in this category,” Dávila said in a statement published by Apyce.
Last year, his brother Diego Dávila had obtained fourteenth place out of 74 competitors in the same categorywhich shows that “year after year the participants from Argentina improve their positions”assured from the Association.
The Argentine team made up of Apyce was made up of Maximiliano Mieres, Cristian Abarzúa, Demián Pinto, Miguel Villalba, Mauro Dávila, Diego Dávila and Javier Labaké.
For his part, Mieres, winner of the “Argentine Championship of Pizza and Empanada” in 2019, he achieved seventh place in the FreeStyle category.
With a choreography synchronized with the music, Mieres demonstrated his ability to do “high level” stunts and even performed part of the presentation blindfolded.
On the other hand, the pizza master who obtained the best score of all the Argentines who participated in this edition was Diego Dávila, awarded as “Best ranked by Argentina”.
