Alonso joins the participation of Rodrigo Moreno with “The criminals”, a film selected to participate in the “Un Certain Regard” section at the 76th. edition of the most emblematic contest in the world.


For Alonso, who will premiere in a section dedicated to new titles, it will be the fifth participation in the French festival, after his steps with “Freedom”, “The dead”, “Liverpool” and “wow”the latter, with vigo mortensen in the leading role.
While Moreno (“The Custodian”, “A Mysterious World”, “A Provincial Town”) will participate in Cannes for the first time, and will do so with a story that follows two bank employees in Buenos Aires who plan to rob the branch where they work the equivalent of all the salaries they would earn until they retire, according to the film’s synopsis.
The other two premieres announced today were “Lost in the night”from Catalan Amat Escalante and “‘L’amour et les forets”by the French actress and director Valerie Donzelli.
While for the Official Competition they were announced “Black fly”of Jean-Stéphane Sauvaireand “I returned”of Catherine Corsini. For Un Certain Regard were selected “Only the river flows”of wei shujunand “One Night”of alex lutz.
