Music: Mando Diao singer worries about the younger generation

“We can’t burden young people with putting the world in order. We also have to do something,” demands Mando Diao singer Björn Dixgård. He worries about the future of the younger generation.

Björn Dixgård (41), frontman of the Swedish rock band Mando Diao, worries about the future of the younger generation. “The other day my daughter asked me if she had a future. I said: Of course you have a future. But nobody knows what the future will really bring,” said the singer of Mando Diao (“Dance With Somebody”) in an interview the German Press Agency.

“Twenty years ago nobody believed in a war in Europe, but when you think about it, there was always war somewhere. It has to stop at some point, who knows what else will happen. And the climate is even more alarming,” said Dixgård. “I guess there’s a future, but we can’t put it on young people to fix the world. We have to do something too. And I’m trying to contribute by making music that people might like and they might like can inspire to do something good.”

Mando Diao’s new album (“Boblikov’s Magical World”) will be released on Friday (April 28).
