Martin Scorsese was in front at the CinemaCon session of paramount on Thursday to show the preview of Killers of the Flower Moon.
“I designed to project this on a big screen. This is a big screen movie and that’s what we did,” Scorsese said.
“I was only able to make this film with collaborators who are remarkable,” he said. She emphasized that the film is her sixth with Leonardo Dicapriothe tenth with robert deniro and the first with the two Oscar winners together.
Scorsese also thanked Apple: “They’re true believers in cinema,” saying the movie couldn’t be made without the streamer’s support. The film, which is 3 hours and 26 minutes long, will have its world premiere at Cannes next month.
“When this director is inspired by true stories, think about the results,” said Paramount Pictures chief Brian Robbins, who introduced Scorsese today.
Adapted for the screen by Eric Roth and Scorsese from the book based on true events of david grann, Killers of the Flower Moon is set in 1920s Oklahoma and depicts the serial murder of members of the oil-rich Osage Nation, a series of brutal crimes that came to be known as the Reign of Terror. The result was the formation of the FBI.
In addition to DiCaprio and De Niro, the film stars Lily Gladstone, Jesse Plemons, Cara Jade Myers, JaNae Collins, Jillian Dion and Tantoo Cardinal.
