In the trailer, we see the real Lightyear suit for what is sure to be a dangerous and daring space mission. He boards a space shuttle, with a ground control team watching anxiously, as it takes off into the unknown cosmos. With the melody of “Starman” from David Bowie, Lightyear explores alien planets, learns about space travel from an instructive robot, and finally sees his iconic green and white spacesuit in the trailer’s final moments.
Allen lent his voice to Buzz Lightyear in the franchise. “Toy Story” in four films, from the 1995 hit original film to the 2019 sequel “Toy Story 4”. After hanging up his shield as Captain America, Evans jumps from the Marvel Cinematic Universe to Pixar.
Also on his next list is the spy adventure. “The Grey Man”, which brings him together with the directors of “Avengers” Joe y Anthony Russo, and “Don’t Look Up” from Adam McKay, starring Leonardo Dicaprio and Jennifer Lawrence later this year.
“Lightyear”, was first announced almost a year ago on Disney Investor Day 2020, is scheduled to hit theaters on June 17, 2022. It will arrive just a few months after the next Pixar movie, “Turning Red”, which opens on March 11, 2022.
