The story of a Dutch YouTuber accused of fathering more than 500 children will be explored in a documentary series from Netflix titled Fertility Fraudster [título provisional] according to the portal Deadline.

The three-part series will delve into the global fertility industry focusing on jonathan meijerwho was ordered late last month by judges in the Netherlands to stop donating sperm and told he will be fined 100,000 euros for each future violation.

Meijer has been banned from donating in the Netherlands for several years, but is accused of simply relocating his activities and currently resides in Kenya. The Dutch court recently ruled that “deliberately misinformed” the recipients of the donation about the number of children he had fathered and that this creates a “huge kinship network, with hundreds of half-siblings”leading to potential psychological trauma.
The series is the last documentary of Netflix which examines the thorny issue of fraud in an unregulated industry, following The Tinder Swindler. You will investigate the shady world of the fertility industry in general and find out how, due to a lack of global regulations, some international fertility clinics continue to allow anonymous donations.
Curious Films, which has also made a documentary on Netflix about the software pioneer John McAfee, is behind Fertility Fraudster along with AJH Films.
