Susan Sarandon has once again found herself in police custody. The Oscar winner was arrested in the New York State Capitol.
Oscar winner Susan Sarandon (76) was arrested last Monday at the New York State Capitol in the US city of Albony. , she protested there together with other activists for fair wages for restaurant employees. A total of eight people were taken into custody, but were later released.
At the heart of the dispute is whether restaurant workers will be paid the future minimum wage of $17 plus tips. Currently, restaurateurs should be free to decide whether to pay their employees the minimum wage if they leave the tips to their employees.

Susan Sarandon has been politically active for years. Just last week, she supported the writers’ strike in New York. She was also arrested in 2018 when she demonstrated against the immigration policy of then US President Donald Trump (76).
