As reported by the Variety portal, the auditions for the second season of the adaptation of The Last Of Us of HBO were discontinued due to the writers’ strike in the United States.

Sources close to the production of The Last Of Us confirmed that the show had begun preparations for its casting process, but it was halted earlier this week.


Other sources told the aforementioned outlet that the actors auditioning for the second season were told to read lines directly from The Last Of Us Part II , the 2020 PlayStation game on which the second season of the HBO series will be based. Variety is also reporting that although the strikes continue, with no end in sight at this point, the production hopes to begin filming in Vancouver early next year.
According to reports, craig mazinwho co-wrote, co-directed, and executive produced the HBO adaptation, was spotted in ongoing strikes and is currently not involved in any writing, producing, or casting work for the second season due to the strike.
Neil Druckman from Naughty Dog, who created the game franchise and co-created, co-wrote, and co-directed the HBO show, is also not working on the second season at this time.
