The House of Culture, the Museum of Modern Art, the patio and the main room of the Virrey Liniers Space, the Teatro de la Ribera and the gardens of the Larreta Museum are some of the locations where the winning works of the call made in last August, which recognized each of the winners with $ 300,000.
The pieces include “Great Treasures of Memory VOL. 1”, a sound installation by Joaquin Aras at the General San Martín Theater; “Scattered world” by Leo Cavalcante in the Virrey Liniers Space; and “Public dress”, a textile installation by Nina Kunan will be located in Parque Lezama.
Other works, “A time of doubt” by Martín Touzón, it will be seen in the Plaza de la Recoleta; the textile mural “Order of requechos among fireflies and cigars or Informalist Landscape” by Lucrecia Lionti at the General San Martín Theater; “Some mushrooms are born in silence”, a sound installation by Schanton / Ros will be at the Enrique Larreta Museum of Spanish Art; and the sculpture “Cúmulo 1” by Luis Terán, at the Usina del Arte.
In addition, a work by the artist Marie Orensanz was permanently located, “Beyond time” in the Plaza Intendente Seeber, while in the previous edition the same had been done with “Moon’s calendar”, by Leandro Katz, on the esplanade of the National Library.
The schedule of activities of the Art Week includes, among others, the performance “Sacrifice”, by the artist Antonio Villa, on October 31 at 4:00 p.m. at the Central Obelisco subway station; a talk with the artist Nina Kunan in the framework of her work Public Dress, in Parque Lezama, the same day at 4.30 pm; or a conversation with Luis Terán at the Usina del Arte, on November 4 at 5:00 p.m.
Some of the participating spaces are the Buenos Aires Museum (BAM), the Kirchner Cultural Center, the Amalita Collection, the Proa Foundation, the Macba – Museum of Contemporary Art of Buenos Aires, the Aldo Rubino Foundation, the Malba, Munar, the Carlos Gardel House Museum. , the Enrique Larreta Museum of Spanish Art, the Eduardo Sívori Museum of Plastic Arts and the Xul Solar Museum.
Art Week also coincides with the arteBA fair, which will take place from November 3 to 7 at Arenas Studios in the La Boca neighborhood, in the so-called Arts District.
