The Buenos Aires Wine District will hold a fair on Saturday, May 20 at Plaza Arenales, Villa Devoto, to promote trade in the area with the participation of wineries, wine bars, restaurants and winemakers.

During the event, organized as a fair open to the public in which wines “by the glass” from more than 40 wineries will be offered, Nueva York, Mercedes, Pareja and Bahía Blanca streets will be pedestrianized from 12 to 0.

“When we created the Wine District, in 2021, we did it with the aim of positioning the wine industry in the City, making Buenos Aires the starting point of the Wine Route in Argentina and seeking to transform the area into the showcase of one of the most characteristic and representative products of regional economies, also promoting regional economic development,” said José Luis Giusti, Minister of Economic Development and Production of the Government of Buenos Aires.
For his part, winemaker Alejandro Vigil explained: “We are currently in the process of having a space in Buenos Aires and we believe that it is ideal to insert ourselves in the Wine District, where our ideal of gastronomy, wines and friends come together. And invites the traveler to the heart of Argentine wine during his stay in Buenos Aires”.
In this edition of the Wine District Fair there will be tables on the pedestrian streets, a gastronomic patio set up on the corner of New York and Mercedes with stalls that will offer menus to accompany the wines and picnic spaces arranged in the green areas.
In addition, the public will be able to discover and learn more about the world of wine from sommeliers such as Agustina de Alba, Marcela Rienzo, Joe Fernández and Marina Beltrame; and winemakers such as Alejandro Vigil, Walter Bressia, Gabriela Celeste, among others.
They will also be able to participate in interactive experiences such as games with aromatic wine descriptors; and, within the content proposal, on the stage -which will be arranged in the center of the square- there will be live shows.
To promote “responsible and moderate wine consumption”, the public will only be able to buy one ticket per person – part of the proceeds from the event will be donated to the Zubizarreta Hospital Cooperator – and there will be hydration stations.
Located in the area of Villa Devoto, Villa del Parque and Paternal, the Wine District is a public-private initiative that includes the installation of wine bars, cellars and tasting centers, wine schools and sales showrooms, training proposals and experiences gastronomic
