A special accolade for Matthias Schweighöfer: The German actor was allowed to dance on Jimmy Fallon’s US talk show.
Matthias Schweighöfer (40) made a special appearance. The German actor was allowed to speak to Jimmy Fallon (47) about his new Netflix flick “Army of Thieves”. But first he helped the US moderator with the correct pronunciation of his name. “I’m half Irish, half German,” said Fallon, whose grandmother came to North America from Bremen.
Then Fallon noted that he had researched Schweighöfer and found an interview in which the actor was quoted as saying “I am called Justin Timberlake Germany”. “Or not”, but also directly in 2020.
“I think I’m a good dancer, but in a shy way,” explains the Fallon actor and shakes a leg with the presenter to prove it. The US talker then said that he was very happy about how Schweighöfer got off to a flying start in America and that people could now see his talent and charm.
“Army of Thieves”: That’s what it’s about
Army of Thieves takes place before the events of Army of the Dead. Safe cracker Ludwig Dieter (Matthias Schweighöfer) is recruited by a mysterious woman to help a thieving outsider crew in a robbery. Schweighöfer plays the lead role and also directed the prequel for “Army of the Dead”.
In an interview with spot on news, the 40-year-old revealed that he still has big plans in Hollywood: “I would like to work with Steven Spielberg and I would like to win an Oscar. And then I would like to work in a big box office – Play along with the hit, maybe as a Marvel or Disney hero. ” The fact that he was able to shoot for “Army of Thieves” with his girlfriend Ruby O. Fee (25), she plays hacker Korina, was a lot of fun for him. “But we had a deal: When we come back home, to the hotel room, there will be no more talk about work and the film. And we pulled it off.”
