Ex-racing driver Ralf Schumacher once tried Botox – and immediately refrained from it. Apparently the intervention was a wager.
Ralf Schumacher attaches great importance to his appearance. However, cosmetic surgery is not the thing for the former Formula 1 driver (180 starts, six wins). Nevertheless, Schumacher once visited the Beauty Doc – because of a lost bet. “I tried Botox about 10, 15 years ago,” he revealed in the “Bunte”. He was bothered by his forehead wrinkles at the time.
“That was after a lost bet. A doctor was our guest and we talked about the topic for a long time. Then I tried it out,” Schumacher continued in the “Bild”. Ultimately, however, he rather regretted the operation. “I didn’t find it that exciting, though. The result was clear, but I’m someone who also works very hard with facial expressions professionally. And that’s where the meaningfulness simply decreases,” said the 47-year-old.
Ralf Schumacher likes to shop in the women’s department
The ex-racing driver, who is now also launching his own skin care range, seems to have made peace with his wrinkles – and even uses them as an advantage in his work as a Formula 1 expert for the pay TV broadcaster Sky see. Schumacher prefers to keep his skin in good condition with creams rather than Botox, which is sometimes not so easy for him. “It’s difficult to find something for skin care. That’s why I’m often in the women’s department when I’m shopping to find cream for my dry skin,” he revealed to “Bild”.

His ex-wife Cora Schumacher, with whom Ralf Schumacher was married for more than 13 years, is open about her cosmetic surgery. “For me, the first paint is definitely off and I had a lot done,” she explained in 2021. But in retrospect, she too has an ambivalent relationship to plastic surgery. She would not have her operations on her breasts and lips done again, she wrote on Instagram and appealed to her followers: “Think carefully about whether and what you are having tinkered with and whether it is necessary at all. Each operation always carries a certain risk and may not be reversible.”
