After many years, 80-year-old Harrison Ford once again plays the action archaeologist Indiana Jones. He is also concerned with dealing with his own age.
According to his own words, US actor Harrison Ford can gain a lot from his aging film role as “Indiana Jones”. “I longed for this film. I always wanted to develop the character up to this age,” said the 80-year-old of the German Press Agency in a press round in Cannes.
“I wanted to see him disarmed by age. I wanted to see him discouraged.” He wished that “Indy’s” next relationship would bring him back to life, said Ford. And: “I wanted to face my own age in a way.”
The fifth part of the legendary film series, “Indiana Jones and the Wheel of Destiny”, will be released in German cinemas on June 29th. At the hero’s side is his goddaughter Helena (played by Phoebe Waller-Bridge).
