Natalie Portman is ready for a comeback for her Star Wars character Padme Amidala. So far, however, they have not been asked.
Between 1999 and 2005, Natalie Portman (41) was on board in her role as Padmé Amidala in all of George Lucas’ (79) “Star Wars” prequels, until she said goodbye to the legendary space saga via film death.
“Nobody asked me, but I’m open to it.”
However, as she revealed in one, she can certainly imagine returning to her old role. When asked if there was a chance of such a comeback for the character, she replied, “I don’t have any information about it. No one has ever asked me to return, but I’m open to it.”
New “Star Wars” movie with director Taika Waititi
The production company Lucasfilm recently announced that it would produce a new series of “Star Wars” films. According to announcements, one of these films will be taken over by director Taika Waititi (47), who already shot the Marvel film “Thor: Love and Thunder” with Portman in 2022.
During filming at the time, the director is said to have asked Portman if she could imagine acting in a “Star Wars” film. Apparently he wasn’t even aware that she had already done this. The actress on the strange incident: “I thought he was joking. He’s such a prankster that I thought it was a joke. And then he said in an interview that he bent on it.”
