Among Austria’s 14 to 29-year-olds, the trend of dominating video over TV use continues. This was the result of the study published yesterday by the media authority RTR and the Teletest working group with 4000 online respondents. 48.9 percent of young people use YouTube (11.5 percent), Netflix (8.1) and Amazon Prime (3.6), while 46.9 percent watch TV. The consumption of moving images (streaming/TV) per day/capita is 246 minutes, in the Corona years 2022 and 2021 it was 261 and 281 minutes (2020: 248 minutes). In the general population, TV content remains the most used source at 77 percent (2022: 77.4 percent). 86 percent use a TV set and 92 percent use a smartphone.
