“I want to be what I want”: Natalia Wörner fights against clichés in films

You can see in the video: “I want to be what I want” – Natalia Wörner fights against clichés in film.

I’m Natalia Wörner, actress. I can slip into any role – if I get one. In the film I can be a wife, mother, sister, lover. But I could also be a physicist, chancellor or ringmaster – if I could.
As an actress, I experience clichés, injustice and also discrimination. There are still too many films that assign the wrong roles to us women. No role models, no role models. That should change now! We will experience resistance, but whoever wants to initiate change must not be fearful.
It takes courage. Do not be afraid, and certainly not afraid of your own courage! There must be more films that take up the voice of women. What do we need? What are our values What scares us, what drives us?
Fas is a long way, but we are already on our way. We are questioning the status quo, we have fought for the ability to act. We need more female content. We need more women screenwriters, we need more women directors. Because: The male perspective is only half of the gaze, the other, the female, wants to be able to tell stories with the same ease. Because only two halves make something whole.
What can we do? Are you interested. Ask, look for mothers, daughters, sisters, for women who are in front of and next to you. When you find her, carry her story out into the world!
I want to be what I want. The time is right, something happens – and I’m there.
