The series from Euphoria creator Sam Levinson arrives on HBO and HBO Max on Sunday, June 4.
HBO released a new trailer for his original series “Idol” It will premiere on Sunday, June 4. The series had its presentation at the Cannes Film Festival out of competition.
“Idol” is starring lily rose depp as Jocelyn, a fame-hungry young woman looking to take over the entertainment industry. When she meets Tedros, a powerful, sex-obsessed cult leader played by Abel “The Weekend” TesfayeJocelyn’s career expands to new heights.
Tesfaye is co-creator of the series with sam levinson and Pray Fahim. Levinson took over directing duties for the series after the director Amy Seimetz will leave the show in April 2022 “due to a change in creative directions.” The sources informed rolling stones that the series was taking a “disturbing” turn, creating a hectic work environment. HBO and Depp have refuted it.
In addition to Depp and Tesfaye, the cast includes Troye Sivan, Dan Levy, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Eli Roth, Hari Nef, Jane Adams, Jennie Ruby Jane, Mike Dean, Moses Sumney, Rachel Sennott, Ramsey, Suzanna Son, and Hank Azaria.
