111 participants from Upper Austria took part in the federal competition, of whom 53 won a second prize, 39 a first prize and 18 a third prize. Most of the participants came from Tyrol and South Tyrol (164), followed by Lower Austria (145) and Upper Austria. Two musicians from Upper Austria were allowed to discuss the title “national winner” happy: Jakob Gattermann on the tuba and Paul Elias Rischanek on the oboe. Both played in the IVplus age group and are already studying at a music university. Two national winners achieved the highest score of 100 points each: flutist Avigea Louisa Delivicheva from Vienna and bassoonist Katharina Mätzler from Vorarlberg. They too are already enrolled at a music university.
The competition was advertised this time as a soloist for all wind instruments and percussion. All keyboard, string and plucked instruments as well as vocal ensembles and ensembles in creative formats were able to participate in chamber music.
