On the occasion of the 100th birthday of Prince Rainier of Monaco, the principality is putting together an impressive programme: three exhibitions and numerous events pay tribute to his special life and work.
These days would be Rainer III. of Monaco, father of the current Prince and his two sisters Caroline and Stéphanie, turned 100 years old. And the small principality on the Côte d’Azur is celebrating this special anniversary in a big way, not only honoring the prince who died in 2005 on this day: the anniversary itself is just the start of a whole series of festivities that spread like pearls on a necklace the coming months will line up.
Because one can say without exaggeration that Prince Rainier III. was who made Monaco what it is today: a thriving kingdom in miniature, a popular holiday destination and a jet set and tax haven for the rich and famous from all over the world.
