In the dispute over the French winery Miraval, Brad Pitt has followed up with an amended complaint against Angelina Jolie.
The dispute over the Miraval winery continues: Brad Pitt accuses his ex-wife Angelina Jolie of having only found out about the sale of her half to the Russian billionaire Yuri Shefler from a press release. and cites an amended complaint that Pitt’s attorneys are said to have filed in Los Angeles court on June 1 and are available to the newspaper. Accordingly, Pitt assumes that she deliberately sold her shares behind his back.
Angelina Jolie’s action was ‘by design’
It says that the actor only found out in 2021 through the press release that he now had new business partners at the southern French château. “It was intentional: Jolie secretly worked with Shefler and his associates to trace and then complete the alleged sale to ensure Pitt was kept in the dark.” Shefler’s company Stoli and Angelina Jolie knowingly violated the contractual rights of the “Babylon Berlin” star and his company Mondo Bongo “and forced a stranger into the home of Pitt’s family”. The couple had a “mutual and binding obligation”. This states “that neither of the two could or would dispose of their interests separately without the consent of the other”.
Pitt and Jolie had bought a majority stake in the property between Marseille and Nice in 2008 and each owned an equal stake. They are not only connected to the winery on business: they have also had many significant private experiences here. After the twins were born in 2008, the family returned to Miraval from the hospital in Nice, where they tied the knot in 2014. However, they split two years later and have often argued in court ever since. In addition to custody of the six children, it was always about the winery.
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie: Long dispute over Miraval
With a lawsuit against Jolie in February 2022, Pitt wanted to reverse the sale of her shares in the Russian oligarchs. He claimed in the lawsuit that he’s invested a lot of money and time over the years, and he wants a reward for it. His wife at the time would have paid 40 percent of the original purchase price of 25 million euros, he paid the rest. He also referred to the contractual agreement at the time. According to Jolie, however, this never happened. Her lawyers called Pitt’s allegations “frivolous, malicious and part of a problematic pattern”.
