Sydney Sweeney’s family members had different reactions to her HBO series Euphoria. Some turned off, others left.
Sydney Sweeney (25) has been playing Cassandra “Cassie” Howard in the hit HBO teen series “Euphoria” since 2019, which is about drugs, sex, violence and extreme parties, among other things. As the US actress now revealed, not all family members were equally enthusiastic about the project. Some would have switched off the first time, others would have simply left the room when watching together.
“I didn’t prepare my father at all”
for an upcoming episode of ‘Sunday Today with Willie Geist,’ the actress said at least her mother knew what to expect from her role in the series created by Sam Levinson, 38. “My mother was visiting me on set at the time, so she knew the story and I talked to her a lot about it – my father didn’t,” Sweeney explained. “I didn’t prepare my father at all.” She didn’t really know how to mention the HBO series to her father. “When I talk to my dad, it’s usually not about work,” she added. “We have father-daughter talks.”
In the end, however, he also decided to watch the daring series “without telling me, together with his parents,” says Sweeney. But: “My father and my grandfather turned it off and went out.” Only her grandmother watched the series. “She’s a huge fan of mine. I usually bring her to my different sets around the world and make her an extra,” enthuses the actress.
Third season confirmed
“Euphoria,” which also stars Zendaya, Hunter Schafer, Jacob Elordi, Angus Cloud, Maude Apatow, Alexa Demie, and Barbie Ferreira, has been renewed for a third season, but a launch date has not yet been set.
