Brian Cox Reveals He Didn’t Watch The End Of Succession

successionthe hit series of HBO It ended a little over a week ago, but (spoilers) it had ended early for one of its stars, the Logan Roy interpreter. Brian Cox revealed that he didn’t watch the final episode of the show, and doesn’t seem inclined to get to it anytime soon.

Speaking to the BBC, Cox explained why he didn’t watch the end of Succession with the rest of the world.

“I’ve never liked looking at myself to begin with,” Cox explains. “Because of what happened to Logan, I haven’t been willing to watch.”.

Of course, what Cox is referring to is the early departure of his character, demented media mogul and patriarch Logan Roy, from the narrative. In the third episode of the final season, Logan dies, leaving his children to fight each other as his business empire becomes available.

“I knew how it was going to end, because I knew Logan would have already set it up. So I gather that, in the end, Logan ultimately won, even though he’s in the grave,” Cox quipped before turning serious. “It is a strange situation. I don’t cling to things. When it’s over, it’s over and I move on”.

Cox goes on to state what he heard happened in the finale, which essentially nails it: “The rich are getting so indifferent. so far apart That’s what our show is about. And rightfully so, they got what they deserved in the end. Apparently! I wasn’t in the final.”

Jeremy Strong revealed an alternate scene from the end of Succession

In a recent interview with Vanity Fair after the end of the series “Succession”, Jeremy Strong (Kendall Roy) revealed that she tried to jump into the river during a shot at the show’s finale.

Putting in context, Kendall is alone in Battery Park during the last shot of Succession. He officially lost control of his family’s media empire, as Tom Wambsgans (Matthew Macfadyen) was named Waystar’s new CEO following GoJo’s purchase of the company. Kendall was robbed of his life’s purpose. The show cuts to black with Kendall staring at the river, but that’s not where the actor was ready to leave Kendall during filming.

“To me, what happens in the board vote is an extinction level event for this character.”said Strong. “There is no going back from that…Listen to the John Berryman poem that Jesse [Armstrong] has given names to these endings. John Berryman himself died by suicide, jumping into the frozen river. I tried to get in the water after we cut off – I got up off that bank and went as fast as I could over the barrier and over the pilings and the actor playing Colin ran”.

“I didn’t know I was going to do that, and he didn’t know it, but he ran over and stopped me,” Strong continued. “I don’t know if at the time I felt that Kendall just wanted to die, I think he did, or if he essentially wanted to be saved by a proxy for his father.”.

All Succession episodes are available on HBO Max.
