Mark Hamill became world famous as Luke Skywalker. In 1977 he appeared in front of the camera for the first time in this role. Now it’s time for other stories, says the actor.
According to his own words, US actor Mark Hamill (71) no longer sees himself in the role of Luke Skywalker in “Star Wars”. “I’ve had my time, and that’s good. But it’s enough,” he said in an interview with “CBS Sunday Morning”. When asked if there was a possibility of his return, Hamill said: “Never say never”. But at the same time he added: “I mean, they have so many stories to tell that they don’t need Luke anymore.”
Mark Hamill first appeared in front of the camera as Luke Skywalker in “Star Wars” in 1977. Since then, he has returned to screens in this role time and time again. Hamill also starred in the latest installments of the “Star Wars” series, “The Last Jedi” (2017) and “The Rise of Skywalker” (2019). He also appeared in a few episodes of the Disney Plus series The Mandalorian (2019), where the role played by Hamill returned in a younger form thanks to CGI technology.
